“Last time I heard someone this good at such an early stage, it was Jade Bird.” – BBC Wales (Adam Walton)
For fans of Big Thief, Mary in the Junkyard & This is the Kit, "The Pack" brings frontwoman Grace Mackenzie's folky ballads to life, creating ambient, soft-rock tracks with catchy melodies and hard-hitting lyrics.
Spellbound by soft vocals and dreamy slide guitar, "The Pack" is glued together with groovy drum beats and energetic bass lines. Grace, Will, Kaps and Reuben bring a fresh perspective to the music scene, with a slight twang to their new folk-gaze sound.
With their 2nd EP just released, the 4-piece have gained attraction from BBC Introducing in the West & Wales, including being featured on the Welsh A-List and Bethan Elfyn's Wales mix. Having just finished their successful headline tour around the south of the UK, "The Pack" have a great support base and energy around them, with many more unreleased tracks to fill your future playlists.
A Bit About “shells”
Our second EP, “shells”, is a mosaic of life in your early 20s. It’s a journey of learning through discomfort. Inspired by nature and the environment of growing up by the sea, this EP explores the value of being nurtured by one's surroundings.
The beauty of a shell is that every one of them is different, and not one of them is perfect. They crack under pressure and make a mess, just like humans. This EP summarises this concept.
Our lead single, ‘a shell (of what I might’ve been)’, explores the process of finding yourself again after allowing someone to shape and define you and having to find yourself again after letting go.
For the release of our 2nd EP, we also made some visual elements, including our first-ever music video for “echo” and 2 live sessions from a cabin for opening track “pile of clothes” and lead single “shells”.
